Internship Asset Management - Advisory Team - 6 to 12 months

Description

With more than 200 people, AM has built an on-the-ground presence in the world's major markets through organic growth and selected partnerships. We offer a select range of actively managed strategies in both the long-only and alternative spaces, with complete independence for portfolio managers. We focus on strategic niche investment themes such as absolute return fixed income, emerging markets, convertibles, selected equity strategies and alternative investments. Most of our strategies are managed in-house and external portfolio managers are selected only when they show unmatchable long-term qualities. We serve the whole spectrum of both local and global institutional clients, including sovereign wealth funds, endowment funds, pension funds, insurance companies, banks, central banks, family offices and distributors.

Mission

This position provides a great opportunity to get a unique exposure to the Discretionary Portfolio Management environment: Financial markets, Investment analysis on Equity and Fixed Income.

Challenges

As an intern, you will support the Discretionary Portfolio Management team in all its business activities and gain knowledge about all the different aspects of financial investments.

Main responsabilities

The candidate will have to:

  • Design, implement and maintain Excel- based tools used to support the Discretionary Portfolio Management team, either independently or in a team, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Improve the automatization of the investment proposal process;
  • Improve the tools used to support investment committees;
  • Improve the tools used to implement and monitor the implementation of investment decisions.

Education

  • Education: Master Degree
  • Certification: Engineering
  • IT Tools: Microsoft Office tools especially Excel, PowerPoint - Programming skills in VBA and database managem

Experience

  • Years of experience: 0-3 : beginner
  • Experience in private banking: Optional

Language

  • English: Fluent
  • French: Fluent

Personal skills

  • Swiss resident: Optional

An engineering degree in Computer science with a finance specialisation - Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office tools especially Excel, PowerPoint - Programming skills in VBA and database management (Access, SQL) a plus - Knowledge of financial markets and investments - High Motivation, high attention to detail - Excellent organization skills - Very strong team spirit and ability to partner with other teams
