Senior Credit Officer (M/F)


The Credit Structuring Team is in charge of analyzing and propose credit structuring services to UBP's clients by adopting optimized solutions.


Under the supervision of the local Head of Credit Structuring he/she will assist the Wealth Management activity on the designing of the appropriate credit structures and assess optimized credit terms.


The Credit Officer function must challenge credit requests ensuring the bank's risk exposure handling the implementation of credits.

Main responsabilities

  • Assist the Relationship Managers to design appropriate credit structure and terms;
  • Assess and recommend credit applications in accordance with the credit policy and procedures of the Bank;
  • Prepare and submit credit applications to relevant approval authorities – customized credits, Lombard credits and mortgages;
  • Coordinate implementation process of loans in collaboration with internal departments (legal, credit back-office teams etc.) and with external partners (legal counsel, notary, property surveyor etc.);
  • Prepare and issue the relevant credit documents (term-sheets, loan agreements, security deeds etc.)
  • Assist the credit back-office to ensure completeness and accuracy of loan security documentation, conditions precedent, margins and covenants as per terms and conditions of authorized credits.  

Specific Competencies

  • University degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent;
  • Minimum 3-7 years’ experience in credit services in Private Banking or credit risk department;
  • Stress Resilient;
  • Problem Solving and Analytical mindset;
  • Proactive and reactive;
  • Multitasking attitude;
  • Attention to Detail;
  • Sense of discretion and confidentiality;
  • Very good knowledge on MS Office Pack and main financial software’s;
  • Fluent English and French, additional languages are an advantage; (written and verbally)


Notice: In accordance with the provisions of the Luxembourg law of 23 July 2016 amending the law of 29 March 2013, retained candidate will be required to provide an extract from their criminal record as a part of UBP screening process.


  • Education: Master Degree
  • Certification: Economics, Finance
  • Technical skills: Very good knowledge on credit structuring.
  • IT Tools: Advanced user on MS Office


  • Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
  • Experience required: At least 3-7 years on a similar position or as a credit risk specialist.
  • Experience in private banking: Mandatory


  • French: Fluent
  • English: Fluent
  • Other: Advanced (Italian or Scandinavian languages are an advantage.)
