Product Management & Governance Assistant - Temporary 6 months

Description

Mission

Students, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2021 from universities in or outside Hong Kong and who are Hong Kong residents lawfully employable in Hong Kong, are welcome to apply. Open application starts on 1 May 2021

Challenges

The 6-month program offers insights into the private banking sector and includes training, networking opportunities and exposure to UBP wealth management professionals across businesses. 

Main responsabilities

Responsibilities :

Support the Product Management & Governance team in Hong Kong in the setting up and maintenance of all products in the Asia investment universe (the Product Master Catalogue).

Help with the preparation of the New Product & Services Committee and the Post-Product Launch Reviews, ensuring completion as per policy requirements and standards. 

Implementation and oversight of product risk categories in Asia.

Work with product and control functions throughout the entire product approval process to facilitate product approvals for Asia. 

Organize periodic reviews of products for Asia.

Implement a robust set of checks on product features and associated risks.

Work with product teams to setup new products on the Asia Product Master Catalogue as per policy .

Co-ordinate with product teams to ensure the timely updating of the Product Master Catalogue by reflecting all changes to the recommended and approved product lists.

Removal of products from the catalogue .

Update the Front Office teams on any changes to the Product Master Catalogue.

Review of product risk categories to provide updates to Senior Management.

Support key strategic and operational projects across the Investment Services team .

Help with regulatory queries/inspections (e.g. from the HKMA, MAS) about the bank’s product ratings and recommended lists .

Learning outcomes:

Development of strong product knowledge across a full suite of products, including equities, fixed income, funds, structured products and derivatives.

Development of an understanding of private bank investment product processes, including suitability and product due diligence.

Development of an overview of key private banking regulations.

Education

  • Education: Bachelor Degree

Experience

  • Years of experience: 0-3 : beginner
  • Experience in private banking: Optional

Language

  • English: Fluent
  • Other: (Cantonese and or Mandarin)

Personal skills

  • Swiss resident: N/A

Strong attention to detail. Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills a necessity. Fluency in a language other than English, such as Cantonese and/or Mandarin, a bonus.
