With artificial intelligence booming and providing many useful solutions that help make tasks faster and more efficient, UBP’s specialists are keeping a close eye on new functionalities and trends. Another aspect that they closely monitor is of course security. We interviewed our Head of Digital, Innovation & Data to find out which technologies UBP has adopted so far and what they bring.

Since UBP’s in-house GenAI became available, its usage has gone through the roof. With 2,000 users, of which 1,200 are active, the tool has handled over 50,000 prompts per month, double what had been anticipated. The new functionalities have been welcomed by users and demand for further enhancements is high, which is keeping our IT colleagues very busy working to deliver them.

Among the functionalities that have been steadily deployed is the UBP GenAI assistant and its Upload & Ask feature. ‘This has been popular with colleagues who need to process large volumes of text and find out facts and data quickly, while the coding tool has been widely taken up by developers across the Bank,’ says our AI specialist.

More capabilities are coming down the line, including some department-specific AI tools, with projects in Compliance, HR, Security, and IT. They will be assessed for approval on a case-by-case basis through our AI governance infrastructure.

This AI governance framework has been set up to define the rules of engagement with AI and oversee its use in order to ensure we apply best practices, keep the Bank’s and clients’ data safe, and comply with regulations.
