A successful, decade-long partnership with Camerata Venia

UBP actively supports cultural and artistic projects in the locations where it has offices. As part of the promotion of classical music and its rising stars in Geneva, we are pleased to have been a partner of the Camerata Venia ensemble since 2013.

On October 20 at the Victoria Hall in Geneva, Camerata Venia gave a concert to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the creation of its Saisons bien tempérées – the ensemble’s annual cycle of concerts.

Conducted by Gleb Skvortsov, the gala concert featured the talented pianist Kristina Miller performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and was greeted by thunderous applause from the audience. The programme also included works by Sibelius and Rosenblatt.

A popular feature of Geneva’s musical landscape, Camerata Venia was founded by Gleb Skvortsov and is made up of professional musicians from the Lake Geneva region. The ensemble’s ambition is to offer today’s young talent the best possible environment so that they can flourish alongside renowned artists and, in turn, take centre stage themselves in the future.

The Saisons bien tempérées series aims to showcase the talent and excellence of the ensemble’s musicians. The cycles offer a unique and varied repertoire which includes well-known classical works alongside unusual and even forgotten pieces. The programmes are designed to appeal to the most discerning music lover as well as the casual listener.

On 19 October 2022, Le Temps, a Swiss newspaper, ran a feature on Camerata Venia. Click here to read the piece and find out more about the orchestra’s story.
