Carlos Casanova ist seit 2020 bei der UBP als Senior Economist für die Region Asien tätig und einer der wichtigen Autoren globaler Makro-Studien. Er ist ausserdem für das makroökonomische Research in Asien verantwortlich und trägt dazu bei, die Anlagestrategie der Bank in dieser Region mitzugestalten.

Carlos Casanova hat mehr als zehn Jahre Erfahrung in der Analyse asiatischer Börsen. Vor seinem Wechsel zur UBP war er bei Coface als Ökonom für die Region Asien-Pazifik und das Research über asiatische Volkswirtschaften zuständig. Zuvor war er bei der spanischen Bankengruppe Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) in Hongkong und der Europäischen Kommission in Peking tätig.

Carlos hat einen Master in internationalen Wirtschaftswissenschaften der Universität Johns Hopkins, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) und einen Bachelor (Joint Honours) der Universität London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Er spricht fliessend Chinesisch, Englisch und Spanisch.
