A Reserva Federal não irá corresponder às expectativas dos mercados monetários
A doutrina do banco central recomenda não reagir diretamente a um choque de oferta, desde que este seja temporário e que a inflação ainda não se encontre persistentemente acima da meta. Atualmente, nenhuma destas duas condições se verifica. A inflação subjacente, medida pelo índice PCE, situou-se nos 3,0% em agosto, e o conflito entre os EUA e o Irão arrasta-se há mais de seis meses.
