Avant d’intégrer l'UBP, il a travaillé durant 14 ans du côté vente au Royaume-Uni comme analyste; plus récemment, il a exercé 9 ans chez Investec Securities, où il était Analyste senior en charge de la franchise Transition énergétique et à la tête de l'équipe de recherche d'Edimbourg. Il a couvert divers secteurs, notamment les ressources, les services publics, les produits chimiques et l'industrie. Avant de travailler dans la finance, il a commencé sa carrière dans le secteur industriel, auprès du chimiste britannique Johnson Matthey.
Marc Elliott est titulaire d'un master en Génie chimique de l'Université de Sheffield au Royaume-Uni.
