New UBP Monaco Site Manager

New UBP Monaco Site Manager

Union Bancaire Privée (UBP) has announced the appointment of Thierry Garde as Site Manager of its Monaco branch as of 1 February 2018.

Before joining UBP, Thierry Garde had been CEO of Société Générale Private Banking in Monaco since 2013. He has over thirty years of experience with the Société Générale group, where he held several positions in France and around the world, including in Moscow, Warsaw, New York, London and Brussels, in both investment and private banking. Thierry Garde is also Vice-President of the Monaco Association for Financial Activities (AMAF), in charge of the Social Affairs Commission, a role that he will retain alongside his work as Site Manager of UBP Monaco.

Our Monaco branch, which employs 46 staff to date, has become a major player in the principality’s financial sector, having strengthened its position with the acquisition of the Coutts International business in 2015

UBP’s Private Banking CEO, Michel Longhini, has stated: “With its vibrant economy and political stability, Monaco is a priority market for our Bank. We plan to further develop our business in this highly competitive financial centre, and the hiring of Thierry Garde – who has solid experience in the banking industry and in-depth knowledge of the local market – reflects our wish to strengthen our presence in Monaco.”
