We recently held UBP’s Wealth & Asset Management Forum at the InterContinental hotel in Geneva. The event brought together 250 people from different – in some cases distant – parts of the group. The guests included many fresh faces following the acquisition of SG Kleinwort Hambros and SG Private Banking Switzerland, as well as some non-acquisition joiners who came to UBP less than a year ago.
The central theme of the conference was integration and unity. As we welcome our new colleagues, this was an opportunity to get to know them and speed up their integration into UBP. With every acquisition UBP has made, our people’s openness and pragmatism has enabled us to maintain a strong corporate culture by embracing the fresh perspectives and skills that new joiners bring.
Unity among teams, departments and divisions is another key success factor on which we focus. UBP has the notable advantage of in-house product development and management capabilities – our Asset Management division. This gives us added power to tailor solutions to our clients’ specific needs, often by coming up with innovative ideas. Exploring strategies to maintain and enhance the collaboration between our client service force and our investment vehicle experts is an ongoing priority in our client-centric strategy.
The bridges between teams are built and maintained at the Forum with a variety of events: a panel discussion between the Heads of Wealth Management and Asset Management, an overview of recent successful collaborations between the divisions to deliver on specific client requests, a series of workshops by asset class for new RMs to meet the investment management experts, question time with the CEO, and plenty of networking opportunities in between.
The conference unites experts in hedge funds, emerging markets, fixed income, equities, and private markets, among others, together with discretionary management specialists and advisors alongside many relationship managers from a range of markets. This creates the right conditions for the sharing of knowledge, ideas, best practices, and casual conversation for the ultimate benefit of our clients.
