Description

Based in Luxembourg, you will provide support to Union Bancaire Privée (Europe) compliance team by operating in the daily compliance activities for the entity in Luxembourg and its branches in Lisbon and Milan.


Mission

Under the supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer you will be in charge of monitoring all regulatory compliance of Union Bancaire Privée (Europe) with local laws, regulations, ethical standards as well as UBP Group internal procedures and policies.


Main responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for business units within the regulatory compliance topics and provide expertise and advice to them.

  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives related to regulations typically within the compliance domains, such as MiFID/MiFIR, Sustainability/ESG, Professional ethics, etc.

  • Support business units in implementing ad-hoc regulations.

  • Contribute to projects as an advisor and formalize opinions if required within the covered scope.

  • Ensure continuous legislative and regulatory monitoring.

  • Draft and update Compliance framework (policies and procedures) within the covered scope to ensure the bank's continuous compliance and oversee their implementation.

  • Supervise controls carried out by business units and support functions.

  • Evaluate the quality of the control system implemented by business units.

  • Identify weaknesses and contribute to defining action plans.

  • Respond to specific requests if required.


Personal skills

Strong knowledge of regulations for private banking environment in Luxembourg including MiFID/MiFIR, Sustainability & ESG, Code of conduct & Ethics in banking environment. Strong analytical skills, responsiveness, Client-centric & Solution-driven. Excellent interpersonal abilities to communicate, facing tough situations, with interlocutors at all levels of the hierarchy. Dynamic personality, accustomed to both working in a team and in an independent manner.


Education

  • Education: Master Degree
  • Certification: Law / Economics / Business Administration
  • Technical skills: MiFID/MiFIR; ESG & Sustainability; Code of Ethics.
  • IT Tools: Advanced user in Microsoft Office and Compliance tools.

Experience

  • Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
  • Experience required: At least 3 years of experience in similar position either in Private Banking, Consultancy or Auditing sector.
  • Experience in private banking: Mandatory
