Union Bancaire Privée (Europe) S.A. acts as the booking centre and custodian bank for private banking relationships based at the Milan branch. Private banking and Asset Management services are provided by two separate teams of senior professionals with extensive experience in their fields of expertise.
Private Banking
Our Milan branch has an innovative team set-up which is suited to the specific features of the Italian market.
The assets of accounts opened at the Milan branch are deposited and managed at Union Bancaire Privée (Europe) S.A. in Luxembourg. This means clients get the full benefit of the Milan branch’s expertise while their assets are maintained in the safety of Luxembourg’s political stability, as a founding member of the European Union and the seat of several European institutions, and its AAA credit rating.
Union Bancaire Privée (Europe) S.A. Luxembourg is a member of Luxembourg’s asset-protection schemes, the Fonds de Garantie des Dépôts Luxembourg (FGDL), and the Système d’Indemnisation des Investisseurs Luxembourg (SIIL). The subsidiary is fully owned by the parent company, Union Bancaire Privée, UBP SA, based in Geneva, Switzerland.
The services provided by the Milan branch are aimed at fulfilling the specific needs and goals of Italian domestic clients. It offers a diverse range of mandates and advisory services adaptable to different investment profiles (wealth preservation, balanced wealth generation, and performance):
- Discretionary mandates: innovative and bespoke solutions – available in a range of currencies and for different risk profiles
- Advisory services: proactive investment advice for clients who wish to keep control of their investments but who would like to benefit from UBP’s financial know-how and expertise
- Execution-only mandates: for those clients who prefer to manage their assets independently
Asset Management
The clients of the UBP Milan office’s Asset Management division include pension funds, fund distributors, and bank foundations. The branch provides investment solutions and relationship management services. This includes information about funds promoted and managed by the UBP Group as well as access through certain sub-funds to various portfolio managers external to the Group. Our team also advises on and builds specific mandates based on our fund managers’ particular expertise.
Since being set up, the branch’s assets under management have grown nearly sevenfold, and today total some EUR 1.3 billion. This successful growth can be attributed to our closeness to our clients, both in terms of location and of communication. Our work is transparent – our clients are regularly updated and also receive frequent visits from our staff. Our marketing activities are provided by the UBP Group, ensuring regular and concise reporting.
