Derek Hammond joined UBP in April 2025 as part of the SG Kleinwort Hambros acquisition and is responsible for the strategic development of the Wealth Management teams covering UK domestic, Channel Islands and Gibraltar activities. He has over 25 years of financial services and client advisory experience. He is based in London and is a member of the Executive Committee of UBP UK.
Derek began his career at Canaccord Capital in London, advising UK and Benelux institutional clients, before moving to Paris with Credit Lyonnais Securities to develop the equities coverage of Dutch pension funds, family offices and institutional investment managers. He moved to Societe Generale in 2004, where he led the Benelux, then Continental Europe client coverage teams. Derek returned to the UK in 2010 to expand Societe Generale’s UK & Northern Europe institutional equities franchise. He then worked in equity capital markets, covering corporate clients in ECM activities. In 2020 Derek became Head of Wealth Management UK.
Derek holds a degree in Law from the University of London and an Investment Advice Diploma from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
