Mission
The Operational Risk Management function is an independent and objective unit that supports board and senior management in fulfilling their operational risk governance and oversight responsibilities.
Main responsibilities
It uses a structured approach that helps businesses proactively identify, asses, prioritize, monitor, and report operational risks, such as process failures or human error, to minimize potential losses and exploit opportunities. This approach includes factors such as key risk indicators (KRIs), and risk control and self-assessment (RCSAs).
Operational risk, in the context of risk management, has become more significant now, than ever before. Consequently, the operational risk discipline evolves in different areas and addresses new challenges, in particular (1) the need to expand to include second-line oversight and business-process resiliency, (2) the analytics-driven issue detection and real-time risk reporting, in a context of digitization and automation, and (3) the use of tools to manage specialized risk types.
Key responsibilities
Provide insight on the set of risk management metrics that quantify the exposure to various types of operational risk.
Assist in developing and maintaining KRIs related to operational risk, and review on an ongoing basis the existing KRIs and implementation of new ones.
Preparation of reporting for different committees.
Review of the control framework and identification of key controls: assess new/existing operational risk controls, identify risks, review event reports, challenge risk assessments.
Design and implementation of test of control frameworks, and execution of tests of controls.
Exercise credible and effective challenge as a second line of defence in RCSA.

Education
- Education: Master Degree
Experience
- Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
- Experience required: - 5 years+ experience in operational functions or risk functions. - Strong understanding of operational risk management and rules and regulations, and willingness to keep up to date op operational risk
- Experience in private banking: Mandatory
