UBP encourages individuals to support their communities, with employees being given time off to help a charitable cause of their choice. A dedicated online platform connects them with local and international charities that run projects with a high social impact. Users offer these charities their skills, on-the-ground support or help with fundraising. In 2020, particular efforts were made in several areas linked to the pandemic. Significant sums usually earmarked for corporate events were reallocated to projects intended to alleviate the effects of the health crisis.
Sponsorship & Philanthropy
In our support for cultural ventures, our particular focus is on artistic creation and young talent. We help a number of institutions and artists in the theatre, classical music and cinema.
Recently, UBP has made significant donations to organisations that are on the front line of the fight against COVID-19 and has funded cancer research projects and paediatric institutions, in addition to supporting vulnerable people who lost their livelihoods during the pandemic. Other recent initiatives have benefited education in disadvantaged areas, such as the opening of a school library in a remote part of Asia.
Responsible Procurement Policy
We strive to conduct our business in an economically, socially and environmentally responsible manner, to the highest professional standards and with a strong commitment to sustainability. We expect the same of our suppliers, and our Supplier Code of Conduct provides guidelines for ethical behaviour based on UBP’s core values, applicable laws and regulations, and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact.
