Investment Specialist - Global Equities

Description

Asset Management (AM) With more than 200 people, AM has built an on-the-ground presence in the world's major markets through organic growth and selected partnerships. We offer a select range of actively managed strategies in both the long-only and alternative spaces, with complete independence for portfolio managers. We focus on strategic niche, investment themes, such as absolute return fixed income, emerging markets, convertibles, selected equity strategies and alternative investments. Most of our strategies are managed in-house and external portfolio managers are selected only when they show unmatchable long-term qualities. We serve the whole spectrum of both local and global, institutional clients, including sovereign wealth funds, endowment funds, pension funds, insurance companies, banks, central banks, family offices and distributors.

Mission

Generate the research content on Global Equities for the Advisory group and deliver actionable thematic/macro trade ideas to the Private Bank

Challenges

- Translate complex macro situations into well-articulated, story-lined trade opportunities - Strike the right balance between being able to express own convictions and integrating the house view in the investment messages

Main responsabilities

Develop research content on Global Equities (cross-sectors), with a top-down approach and a key focus on macro thematic ideas

Manage the full value chain of an investment recommendation:

Evaluation

- Deep dive into the investment case

- Analysis based on her/his own research and external research

Communication

- Written: provide structured investment case narrative to be used in Advisory publications

- Oral: present the investment case to the internal Advisory community (Investment Advisors, Investment Consultants, Private Bankers) and to final clients

Monitoring & animation

- Track the performance, update the investment case, highlight key events, close the recommendation

Manage directly portfolios related to her/his field:

- In-house certificates

- Private clients specialized mandates

Education

  • Education: University Degree
  • Certification: Master Degree or equivalentCFA would be a plus

Experience

  • Years of experience: 3-7 : intermediate
  • Experience required: Minimum 5 years’ experience covering global equities (research) - Ability to critically analyze news flow, build own convictions while integrating the in-house investment strategy
  • Experience in private banking: Optional

Language

  • English: Fluent
  • German: Advanced

Personal skills

  • Swiss resident: Optional

Strong communication skills, both orally and written. Team player who can work with limited supervision
