Legal Officer (M/F)
You will join Union Bancaire Privée (Europe), S.A. legal department in charge of all Legal matters related with the Bank and its clients.
The Junior Legal Officer supports the Legal team on its main duty of mitigate the legal risk of the Bank in accordance with the internal procedures and local regulations and laws.
You will handle legal matters in a fast paced international environment.
Deal with legal issues raised by the different departments of the bank and/or its products and services.
Find and propose solutions to the legal problems brought to the attention of the Legal Department and maintain the bank's activities within the legal framework and prevent legal risks.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and other external standards (banking, financial and stock exchange laws, CSSF guidelines, ABBL circulars and conventions, etc.) and seek to ensure that the bank's activities comply with the law and banking ethics.
Report immediately to the Head of Legal any serious facts, significant weaknesses, irregularities or particular events that are noted.
Follow the legislative and jurisprudential evolution in order to maintain a good level of knowledge.
Process and monitor contractual relationships to which the bank is a party, including but not limited to:
Creating, updating and validating the bank's standard templates.
Creating, reviewing and validating any contract that deviates from the previously validated templates.
Reviewing and commenting the main bank's supplier and service provider contracts
Review and adapt account opening documents.
Monitor and follow up any litigation involving the bank, in particular criminal, civil and administrative proceedings.
Assist the Wealth Management Department and the Compliance Department for the handling of client complaints.
Handle garnishment procedure (saisie-arrêt).
Process and follow up the inheritance/succession files.
Process and follow up data protection issues.
Assist the Compliance Department in the context of seizure and search orders (ordonnances de saisie et de perquisition).
Provide legal assistance to the General Secretariat, particularly on certain corporate law matters.
Provide legal assistance to local projects involving various bank's departments.
Provide legal assistance in the setting up of foreign structures and ensure the follow-up and completion of legal formalities and provide legal assistance for Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) projects.
Coordinate the follow-up of Luxembourg files submitted to external legal advisors.
Participate to any committee upon request.

Master Degree in Law
Years of experience:
3-7 : intermediate
At least 5 years of experience in a similar position within a Private Banking environment.
